how to schedule PC power up

I have an HP notebook with windows xp. Is there a way to use the "schedule
task" application to automatically power up my computer at a specific time?

Scheduled tasks cannot do this because you have no power to run windows.
Your Bios may be able to power up the computer. Many newer M/B have this
capability.
