Right click on the link that would normally open the video and then: Save
Target As and save it to a location of your choice, i.e. a folder in My
Documents you create.

The following method works for me...

If you download and install the Mozilla Firefox Browser
and the Downloadhelper add-on you will be able to
download video from just about any site.

Mozilla Firefox
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html

Video DownloadHelper 4.6.4
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006

Once installed...launch Firefox and go to a site with video /
start the video / go to...Tools / Downloadhelper / Media /
Select the media file / Download...

In addition to the other suggestions:

If you right-click in the lower-right section of the Media Player
window, you'll get a popup menu which is actually the "traditional"
menus, including File|Save As...

There also an option at the bottom of that popup to have MP always
show these menus (Show Classic Menus). I never figured out how they
thought we could use MP without those menus...
