How to save a website in Favorites folder with its icon?

When i save a website, it usually has its own icon, like search "define:"
without quotations and save that page, the Google icon will also be saved in
Favorites folder. You can easily check it by clicking the Favorites button
the the Internet Explorer toolbar. However, after it saves a website with its
icon, maybe after restart the computer, the icon disappears. i don't really
mind of the icons of websites, but it would be easier to recognize if the
icon is also be saved.

Does anybody know how to save a website in Favorite folder with its icon?

Have you tried ticking the "Make available offline" option when you
bookmark it?

Those icons are called favicons and are stored in the IE temporary
internet files folder. They get deleted with those are deleted. See
this link for a way to save them:

What he said!)

On a side note: Here is a workaround:

Navigate to the Temporary Internet Files, and drag the icons to the desktop
and rename them to whatever name you like.

Create a folder called Icon Selection. Move all of the renamed favicons to
this folder placed in the root directory of C. Right click on the Icon,
select Browse and navigate to your Icon Selection folder. Choose the
renamed favicon and click ok. These icons will be permanent.

When you right click on an icon, select browse and navigate to the Icon
Selection folder. Choose the renamed favicon you want and click ok. Your
customized icons will be permanent.
