How to restore "line number" on status bar

Somehow I have deleted the line number on the status bar and don't know how
to restore it. I have used the Assistance and this does not solve the
problem.

Are working in Normal view? Is "Ln" missing from the status bar?
Or is "Ln" grayed out on the status bar and does not update
when you add more lines to the document? If it is the latter,
then in Word click on Tools | Options | General | check the
"Background repagination" box | OK.
