how to resize photos

I am looking for a way to resize my photos to 3.5" x 5" for insertion into
word documents or as an alternative a Word Macro that would resize just the
photos. I am using Office 2007.

If these are actual photos & you want to retain their print quality you
*don't* want to resize them in a word processing program. Use a graphics
editing app (such as Photoshop Elements*) and produce your images at the
appropriate print size, resolution & file format determined by the intended
means of outputting the document. Then use the Insert feature of Word to
insert the images into your file.

*There are a number of decent others on the market, some of which are free
or relatively low-priced.

This best accomplished outside of Word.
There is an excellent and FREE graphics software named Ifranview, which
many people use.

Although I'm not yet using Word 2007, generally speaking, if you insert a
photo into a table cell of fixed dimensions, the picture will conform. Note
that, if the aspect ratio of the inserted picture is different, you'll get
the desired height but not the width or vice versa. Also, be sure to set the
cell margins to zero on all sides.

Thanks so much for the quick response - since quality of the photo is not as
important as the actual size - IrFanView is the perfect solution. By the way
I have been trying to get this done for over 5 years and finally found this
place to post - Great Help !

Happy New Year
