Hey all,
I have a text editor I like a lot, and it has a replacement for the
notepad.exe file so that it is run rather than Notepad anytime some process
wants to use Notepad. This executable file simply replaces notepad.exe in
earlier versions of Windows, and has always worked well.
In WinXP SP1, however, it sems you CAN'T replace notepad.exe, WinXP
simply recopies the original into place. In my case, the i386 folder is on
the hard drive (Factory install), so I can't even replace it in the
Windows\System32\dllcache folder first (as in Win2K), as it also fixes it
there.
Is there a way to deal with this without screwing up WinXP too much??
Thanks in advance,
MildBill
