How To Remove XP Home From Dual-Boot System

Hi there,

I need to know how to remove the reference to XP Home that was installed on
my 2nd hard drive (D). I had WinME installed on C: and then upgraded it
with my XP Pro. Therefore, now I have options of using XP Pro or Home on
start-up. Unfortunately I have formatted the D: drive and XP Home is no
longer there.

Is there an easy way to remove the Home reference on startup?

Thanks so much.

Right click MyComputer.
Click Properties > Advanced button > Startup and Recovery Settings button > System
Startup Edit button.
Expand Notepads window if it isn't already expanded.
Remove the line referencing XP Home.
If XP Home was the first listed OS in the Boot menu, make sure you change the line to
that of XP Pro under the Boot Loader section.

You should wind up with similar to this:
[boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="XP Professional" /noexecute=optin
/fastdetect
