How to remove SDC references from AD after failure ???

Hello...

We currently run 2 servers.

Server1 is our PDC, while Server2 is our SDC.

Recently, due to a hardware failure, the SDC was lost along with all data.
Server2 has since been rebuilt and is ready for use again. It has been
named the same as it once was, however, I am thinking that there will be
issues when rejoining it back to Active Directory. I would like to be able
to remove all reference of Server2 from Active Directory then rejoin it
using the same name as it once had. Usually, DCPROMO would be used to
demote the SDC and remove it from AD gracefully, however, since this was a
catastrophic hardware failure, we didn't get the chance to do this. If
anyone can offer some advice on how to do this (I've heard that ntdsutil.exe
may be used for this?), then it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

This is the article that explains how to remove a failed
DC that can't be DCPROMOd down.

I have used it many times and it works great.
