How to remove all the "content protection" ?

I don't want this content protection that's all over Vista, how do you
remove it. I don't want to be forced to use it. It's wrong. I don't want
it.

From a stand point of looking at the U.S. Constitution it seems to be in
violation of certain amendments, no?

Type in Start-> winver.exe

there you can find the link to your Eula (which you have accepted when
installing the product )

and read all about what vista has, what it does, and what you can do against
or for it.

The information you will find that you MUST NOT USE vista if you do not
accept it's behaviour.
You also will find information how to get a refund for your money.

Good Luck

An EULA can be rather worthless, as displayed with the Sony fiasco...
you can't put something in an EULA that is illegal and suddenly make it
legal. And according to the U.S. Constaitution, it voilated our rights.

So I ask again, how do you remove it? Or do I have to wait for the
enivitable patch from the cracker community?

Nothing that you can't do on XP or others.

No one should have to use software that threatens one freedoms.

I'd never waist my money on it.

No -- You've made a common mistake among Americans. The U.S.
Constitution only restricts what laws the government may enact (and/or
enforce).

The constitution does not control or inhibit individuals, or companies
from forming agreements, unless said individuals are acting as
government agents at the time.

So then Windows Vista is the only OS your mommy will allow you to use?

Too bad.

So personal attacks is the only way you can answer? Ever heard of
checking thigns out BEFORE you buy? I knew it was probably useless to
ask here but I thought there might be a slim chance someone might know
if theres a way to disable it, but it seems theres too much wrong with
this OS so I doubt I will flush hard earned money down the toilet this
time around, for the ill named "latest and greatest" Vista.

I only wish people like you wouldn't be so blind, especially when it
coems to DRM and how it applies to both Vista and to the
eletronics+media indurstry in general.

But then again, you probably get off on being screwed even though you
pay instead of pirate. I, on the other hand, don't want to be treated
like I'm a criminal when I buy thigns the right way. I don't want root
kits, DRM, HDCP, etc that presume I intend to do something illegal.

And while all the DRM runs all over your media equpiement, prople who
download media, including HD rips, will watch it with out any special HD
hardware or software.

I've actually sampled such "rips" at a colleague's recently, an avi that
played it any player capable of playing divx type videos. And it looks
100 times better than 480i DVD.

I really have a hard time saying that is truly wrong, given the "legal"
alternative. Maybe you're too used to being pushed aroudn and blindly
following the heard to know wtf I'm talkign about, and thats where the
real shame and problem lies. People like yourself.

Aleady have such a box, thank you. Been using one as a server for years,
get so spam running sendmail + blacklists, own dns resolution using
bind, everything runs great.

KDE runs decently though too, though I do use XP Pro and also run a 2003
box as well.
