hi,
Can I ask how to reinstall the system files via the recovery console? The
book said that the system files are in compressed format inside the cd, and
it will automatically uncompressed when it transferred to the hard disk, is
the following command correct?
"copy hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll"

Thx
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

Certain files, like ntldr, can simply be copied, but for most you need to
use the "expand" command. The syntax is roughly the same as copy, enter
"expand /?" for help. An example would be:

expand X:\i386\hal.dl_ C:\Windows\system32

Where "X" is your CD drive letter (should be the same one used by Windows
when the system is in normal mode).

it.... but i really want to deal with the problems ... so that next time if
I encounter the same problem I can fix it..... hopefully ^^

Thx.
