Hi all,

I removed the SP2 yesterday. But I need to reinstall it today. I could not
download from Windows Update, it show the SP2 is already installed in the
computer. Does anyone know how to reinstall SP2?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

If you used Add/Remove Programs to remove SP2, you should be able to
download it again. It should not be shown as installed on your system.

You can do a "google" for "SP2 download", it will provide a couple sites
where you can download the full version, then execute it. This is a large
download, it will take a while to do.

Thanks for your reply. I did remove SP2 via Add/Remove Programs. after that,
I right-click My Computer and check the properties, the System show SP1. But
when I go to Windows Update, It doesn't show SP2 for installation list.

Hi

I suggest you use the full SP2 installer instead of Windows
Update to install SP2.

SP2 is available at the Microsoft Download Center
(standalone "network" version, 266 MB):

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=049c9dbe-3b8e-4f30-8245-9e368d3cdb5a

(disregard the "intended for IT professionals and developers" part,
it can be used on a single computer as well)

If you do not have broadband at home, but you have at work or you have
friends that have it, you can download it there and burn it to a CD.

If you think that the download is to large, you can get the same file
on a CD from Microsoft (a lot of computer magazines currently also
have the CD included).

The Windows XP SP2 CD order point:

For folders you can consider deleting and other disk cleanup tips
