How to recover files blocked by windows after file sharing?

I have been trying to send .mp3 and .avi files to a friend thru msn but
everytime the file is finished transferring, a box pops up that says the file
is "potentially harmful" and it blocks it.

Even when I try to find it in the folder it was saved in, it's not there so
I can't even follow the instructions in the windows Help site where it tells
you to check the "unblock" box. Is there a way to find the file again? It's
not even in the recycling bin.. help!

I ran GPEdit.msc and can't seem to find the location to add those files to
the Low risk files... I'm not the brightest crayon in the box when it comes
to computers so can you please give me more detailed instructions? Thanx
