How to programatically format Excel cells

I want to get a quick way to format a column in an Excel sheet (as date in "M/d/yyyy"). Any body has sample codes

Thanks in advance
 
I don't have the code off the top of my head, but record a macro, change the
formatting in a cell, stop the macro..it will give you the code you need.
