How to prevent OS selection screen?

My hard drive died so I installed XP on my backup drive. I replaced the dead
hard drive with a new one. When I turn on my computer I have to choose which
XP install to boot from. There's nothing on the new backup hard drive, so
when I try to boot from it I get File Missing or Corrupt errors. I'm tired
of seeing the OS selection screen, how can I make that second non-existent XP
install disappear from the OS selection screen and have the computer boot
from the primary drive everytime?

You can either edit the boot.ini file manually or try the
following procedure:

Go to Start -> Run and enter msconfig.exe in the Open box.
Click OK.
Click on the Boot.ini tab.
Click on the "Check all boot paths" button.
You will be asked if you want to remove an entry from your
boot.ini file.
Make sure that it refers to the old installation.
Hit the Yes button.
Close the System Cofiguration Utility.
Restart your computer.
