how to play music files attached to Outlook upon opening

D

Donnelly

I have Outlook 2002, SP-2.
Is there any way that I can insert/add a music file
(.wav, MIDI, .wma, etc.) so that when the recipient
receive the email the music plays automatically?

If you can answer this question please be specific - I'm
not a techie.

Many thanks, Donnelly

Dear Brian,
Beaucoup thanks for your response - the link was really
helpful - I'm almost there - just 2 tiny problems that
I'm hoping you can help me solve.

I followed instructions for setting MS Word as my e-mail
editor. But it is just NOT taking. Note: I did
download/install a few days ago the MS Outlook 2002 SP3.

And, I did download (last week) to Outlook
www.SmileyCentral.com to add smilies to my emails.

I'm not really sure when I stopped getting the 'Word is
your e-mail editor' but it was recently. The SP3 and/or
Smiley may/may not have anything to do with my problem.

So, I can't set Word as my e-mail editor.

Re: the link you provided, I have gotten successfully to
the 'small pane press the Sound icon' BUT when I press
the icon I get the following message (and, I do have
Outlook email set for HTML):

"This object was created in HTMLInlineSoundCtl.
This application is not available to open this object.
Make sure the application is properly installed and that
it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed."

So, would be grateful if you have any advice (other than
to toss the laptop out the window).
Many thanks.

Windows XP SP-2 has broken this in Outlook using Word as the editor. It is a
part of the upgraded security options. Microsoft is aware of the problem
and is working on a fix, if possible.
