How to open media files in full screen mode from a presentation?

I'm trying to insert video into my presentation which when clicked will open
in Windows Media Player in full screen mode. By opening in an external player
it saves space on the slide to simply have a written link rather than a small
window. So I tried inserting a basic hyperlink to the video file which
worked. However, I want to be able to open it in full screen mode without
having to adjust Windows Media Player once the file opens. I found
instructions to add the /fullscreen extension to the end of the command,
however this never seems to work in the hyperlink command in Powerpoint. Is
there a way around this please?

Thanks in advance!

You can insert the movie and resize it to be a smail thin line, then use
Custom Animations to set the movie to Zoom to Full Screen (provided you're
using PPT Xp/2003 and not PPT97/2000).

I'm using Office 2002/(XP?) I've tried what you suggested but there isn't a
custom animation option to zoom to full screen. Any ideas???

Thanks for the help though,
Tim

I thought the same feature was in 2002 and 2003, but now I'm not so sure.
You can check by going to http://office.microsoft.com and click on
PowerPoint. Enter video or movie in the Search box and you should get
several tutorials or assistance articles for 2002.

I went to the online support pages, still couldn't find a solution though.
One thing I thought might work was inserting a hyperlink or run command with
the /fullscreen extension at the end of the command, but that doesn't work
either. This is driving me nuts now!

Zoom to full screen is only in 2003 not XP/2002. Doesnt help much but at
least you can stop looking!

Here's a thought:

Insert a new slide after the "launch slide". Set the hyperlink to go to
this new slide. Make the new slide hidden. On the new hidden slide add the
video and resize to full screen. Set the video to play automatically. Add a
hyperlink button on top of the video to jump back to the "launch slide" if
desired.

When you click on the hyperlink it will jump to the hidden slide and play
the video full screen. If you added a hyperlink button you can jump back to
the original slide or just click to go to the next slide. Because it's
hidden, the only way this slide will display is if someone clicks on the link
to it.

Will that work for you?

I want to use the Windows Media Player control so I can have access to the
Play, Pause, FFW, etc. controls. But, I need the video to play in FullScreen
mode everytime, not just the first time. Why won't this work?
