How to open Internet Explorer Maximized?

Every time I open Internet Explorer, it starts as a window and I have to
click on the box in the top right to maximize it so it will use up the full
screen. How can I set IE so it will always start maximized?

with only one window in existence, maximize it then close it. IE should
remember what the last setting was and duplicate that for new instances.

I was under the impression that using the maximize button didn't work but if
the window is increased in size manually, by dragging the edges to fill the
screen, this should retain the size when IE is opened again. This manoeuvre
should be done on the last instance of IE that is open. It worked for me!

well, actually you're right - except that the *first* one will open maximized,
if the last instance was closed as maximized - then any windows spawned from
the first will open at the remembered sizing

Al, you can't do a lot about making changes permanent without resorting to a
program, but you can look at the end of this page, copy the local home page
mentioned at the end to your machine and launch IE with that... that way you
can simply hit a button to correct any nuisance changes... It does nothing
permanent to your settings. This is just the way I prefer to do it.
