how to open encoded file that I copied onto a Sandisk Cruzer

When I open the file on the Sandisk Cruzer it appears encoded and I have not
been able to getit back into English.

I assume that a Sandisk Cruzer is a flash drive? It seems likely that the
document is corrupt (unless you are trying to open a Word 2007 document in
Word 2003 not equipped with the compatibility pack). Always COPY files to
removeable media then COPY back to the hard drive before working on them.
