How to open Access 2002 adp in Access 2000?

I created an Access 2000 format adp in Access 2002. When users with Access
2000 attempt to open it, they get an "Unrecognized database format" error.
The adp consists of one form and one report; these in turn access a table and
a stored procedure on an MS SQL Server

Are you sure the adp you're distributing is in fact in 2000 format. Sounds
fishy to me.

Well, the database objects view states that it's Access 2000 format, and the
only available conversion option is to Access 2002 format. Perhaps the
connection to SQL Server property is different in 2002 than in 2000, and
that's what causes the unrecognized file format error.

I wouldn't think a conn string would cause the error but then I've seen
stranger things.

Yes, it appears that it was the connection string (and DNS errors). After
changing the server name to its IP address, they were almost able to connect,
and our network guy said "Now the ball's back in my court" (probably a router
issue). So when in doubt, change the server name to its IP and try again!
