How to mute sound when adjusting volume

I have the sound scheme to 'no sound' in control panel but i still get a very
loud sound when I adjust the volume control. i can't any place to turn that
sound off. Where do you find that control?

Hello,

The "loud sound" might be coming from the PC speaker. Double click the sound icon in the taskbar and
put a check next to "mute" under the PC Speaker volume settings.

I think she is refering to the sound that windows makes to when it is
adjusted via the slider control on the taskbar (king of a "bong" noise).

I always assumed this noise was so the user could gauge how loud the volume
would be.
