How to modify "Program Files" from the command prompt with UAC on?

Can anybody let me know if there's a way to do this?

Unigraphics 4.0. Comes with a 4.0.3.3 maintenance update CD.

Said CD runs a batch file that essentially runs a series of extractable
archive files to update files within the "UGS" Program Files directory.

Problem is -- with UAC on -- you can't modify *anything* in Program
Files without authentication.

And said authentication doesn't prompt if you run a batch file/use the
command prompt window as far as I can tell.

I tried to run the batch file "as administrator", but the command
prompt window only briefly popped up, then disappeared.

Turning UAC off -- worked fine.

Anybody have any suggestions (short of turning UAC off -- which I'm
leaning more and more toward every day) for how somebody would instruct
users to install a set of patches like this?

Thanks!

Run a command prompt window as Administrator and then try running the batch
file from within that window.

Ah, right -- that worked.

I kept hitting on the *batch file* and trying to run *that* as
administrator.

Duh.

Thanks for the reminder...

Glad to hear it. Seems like there should be a switch you could use to just
run the batch file that way.

Probably is.
