How to make New mail notification more audible and visible ?

When I have a new mail, the outlook just makes a short
sound and puts the envelop icon on the task bar.

Does anyone know how to make the New mail notification
more audible and visible, for example, making an
application popped up on screen and play some animation
with music file or something ? Maybe it could be done
through Windows XP event handling, MACRO or whatever.
Please, give some advice.

I am not aware of any method to make it more visible, but you can pick any
sound.wav file (or record yourself) for the email prompt. I would guess that
Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" would for sure let you know you have mail.
