A monitor will "sink" if you drop it off the back of a boat. Sorry to be a smart-ass, but I couldn't resist.
I think you mean "sync", which is short for synchronize. You don't really give enough information about how your system is configured (cabling, monitor types, setup of video cards) to be able to help you.
