how to make inches not points the default page margin value

Recently, the margin values in 'page setup' for a Word document changed from
inches to points. How can I change them back to inches as the default value?

First thing to check: Tools>Options>General, make sure the Measurement Units:
is set to inches.

Just repeat the message "Thank you!" in your head for about a minute
straight. That way I don't have to type it out, but that's how grateful I am.
What a strange thing to see. I never would have figured that out! Now all the
formatting makes sense again! Yay!
