how to list contacts by last name when creating a new email message

when i create new email messages under outlook 2003, i like to hit the
To: field to bring up the contacts in my outlook address book. the
problem is that when i do it this way, it lists my contacts in order of
their first name. is there any way to change how it lists my contacts?
i would like to have it list my contacts by last name first.

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
