How to keep text alignment from changing with a new line

I have a user who types a line - centers it - drops down to the next line and
wants that line aligned left. Everything above then changes back to left
justify including the center alignment. Any thoughts of how to keep this
from happening? I've checked all the setting and can't find a reason for
this happening.
