How to insert a Visio chart into Word document?

When I use copy and paste to bring a Visio chart into the WORD document, it
reduces the chart to a narrow line and I am unable to change the size of the
chart. When I however bring the same chart and paste it into a new WORD
document, it is copied properly. There must some setting that is not right
.... any ideas? Thanks.

There are a couple of things you can try.

1. In the Word document, go to Format, Paragraph and make sure your line
spacing is not set to "exactly" anything. Exact line spacing will
effectively cut off any graphic pasted in that exceeds the line height.

2. Or, right click on the "line" that should be your chart and select
Format Picture. Go to the Layout tab and change the layout to In Front.
