How to insert a reference into the text in FrontPage 2002

Is it possible in some way to insert a reference into the text in FrontPage
2002, please? I mean similarly like in MS Word. Like this 1)

Or - is this feature improved in later editions of FrontPage?

You can create a subscript that links to a reference web page or the bottom
of the page.

Thank you... but I am not quite sure what does it mean "subscript"...

When I copy text with references made in Word into FrontPage, references are
created there automatically. But If I want to ad some new references directly
in FrontPage I find it impossible in the same style. See example here
