How to input text next to icons

For a user manual I have different icons to point out "danger" "note" "idea"
etc. I want to place those icons on the left-hand side of the page and on the
right of the icons I want to have the text (belonging to that icon) aligned
vertically (that the icon should be aligned alongside the text and not on the
top). Currently I use a simple 2 column table and I put the icon in the left
column and the text in the right coloumn. Is this the correct way or is there
a better way of doing this? XP Word 2003.

That's how I would handle it. Simple enough and it does what you need it to
do. ;-)
