How to inhibit My Documents from opening up in Explorer

Using Win XP (Professional - up to date)

How to inhibit My Documents from opening up in Explorer when I boot up?.

I would like My Documents to be completely closed unless I select the "+"
sign.

Where in RegEdit can I make the change? Or is there a better way to
accomplish my goal?
