How to increase audio level for Movie File

S

student1

I can import a video into Collections and save the Movie File just fine.
However, when I play the Movie File, to hear the audio I have to turn the
volume on my PC way up. How can I increase the audio level when I create the
Movie File?

This is audio already embedded into the original video and NOT an added
audio clip.

Maybe the following steps will help...

When your video clip is on the Movie
Maker timeline...right click the Audio
track and choose...Volume. This will
open the 'Audio Clip Volume' dialog...
Drag the slider to the right.

John, thank you for your help. I can hear audio however the Audio
track line is blank and therefore cannot be adjusted. Here's a short
clip of the video. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I don't know what to tell you...when I import
the file into Movie Maker 2.1 the Audio line
is populated and I can increase the volume
as I previously described.

Here's a link to an adjusted version of your clip:
(I moved the slider all the way to the right...
you may find it to be too loud)

***Just a thought***maybe you're seeing
the Audio/Music track? (not the same as
Audio track). Clear as mud now huh?

I wonder if it could be a simple matter of
clicking the + sign next to the Video track
in order to expose the Audio track?

John,

That was it! I was looking at the "Audio/Music" track not the "Audio"
track. I got it now. Thanks so much for help. I was going nuts trying to
figure this out.

Merry Xmas!

John, I'm sorry to bother you again but I have one more question. Thanks to
you I now know how to increase the volume for INDIVIDUAL clips but how do I
increase the volume for ALL the clips at one time?

The only way I can think of is to save the project as a
movie....avi or .wmv. Then re-import the movie file and
you will have a single file that you can increase the
volume on.

When you re-import the completed movie file...uncheck
"Create clips for video files" on the "Import File" screen.

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...
