How to import from Outlook 7 to Vista Mail?

New to communities, so sorry if this is not a new post: I have lost track of
a conversation on this topic.

I have created a .pst file from Outlook 7 and a bunch of .dbx files of the
same data after importing into Outlook Express and then exporting. I can
find no way to get either kind of file into Vista Mail. Help would be
appreciated.

First of all, there is on Outlook 7; Outlook versions are 97, 98, 2000, 2002
(XP), 2003 and 2007. To import these messages into Windows Mail, you must
install and setup Outlook, then open the saved .PST file with it. Only then
can you import data, Outlook must be present to access the .PST file. The
..DBX files can be directly imported, see these instructions:

How do I back up my files and settings?

Hal, Thank you. I was hoping the the .pst file from Outlook 2007 could be
directly imported without installing Outlook on my new machine.
