how to hide ip

hi...i tried hiding my ip address with with lots of different softwares...but
no use of it and the same software works on my friends computer is it that
because i am behind NAT?? can any please suggest me a good software( a free
version) to hide my ip.? thanx for the reply in advance!

Yes. Your NAT router is what the rest of the internet sees. Utilities that hide your PC's IP address are useless.

The only way is with an anonymous proxy server. Do a google search and you
will find lots of information. For the truly paranoid think about this. Your
anonymous proxy server has better records of where you surf than your ISP
probably keeps. What possible incentive is there for anyone to offer a free
anonymous proxy service? They wouldn't sell that information would they?
