Hi

I am working on a worksheet in Excel with lots of hyperlinks. When I place
the cursor over a cell with a hyperlink a yellow pop up appear with a
description of the hyperlink ("file:///C:..."). Is there anyway to turn off
this pop up? I really need help on this.

Hi,

You cannot ingore the Hyperlink tip. But you can customize the tip
information you require to show, when the user places the cursor on the link.

Do the following:

1. Right-click on the hyperlink, and select Edit Hyper link.
The Edit Hyperlink dialog box is displayed.
2. By default the hyperlink displays the following tip information:
a. Workbook name
b. Sheet tab name
c. Cell refernce
d. Message - Click once to follow, Click and hold to select this cell
3. On the right of Text to diaplay text box, click rhe Screen Tip button.
The Set Hyperlink ScreenTip dialog box is displayed.
4. Enter a text in the ScreenTip Text.
Note: You can enter a customized text in the ScreenTip Text box. if you
leave the ScreenTip Text box blank, then the step 2 will be displayed.
5. Click Ok to set the customized hyperlink tip or click cancel to return to
the Edit Hyperlink dialog.
6. Click Ok in the Edit Hyperlink dialog box to return to the Worksheet.

Important: Hyperlink tip cannot be blank.

Thanks

This is a lot better. It would still be great to be able to ignore the
Hyperlink tip, but I can sure live with this.

Thank you very much.
