How to get win98 update on network

I am running Windowxp home op system with a win98 on the xp network. When I
try to get an update for win98 using the modem on xp, it come back as no
update. The update works ok on the xp. To me it looks like the win98 is
trying to get the update for winxp. I have been trying to 3 months now with
no updates for window 98. I can use the win98 on the internet without any
problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is Microsoft doing any updates for win98. It is my understanding support
and updates for Win98 was on the way out. In fact, it was out but Mickey
Mouse rolled the date back for awhile.
 
There are 5 win98 installed in a company's office. The updates they are
getting now are for virus protection.
