How to get rid of spuious directrories?

I've got a partition that has three directories with names like
"UKD4FGDLWD5FPSSIK8EWRT1LOAS9U" that have suddenly appeared from nowhere and
cannot be deleted. I am using a program called "Unlocker 1.8.5" that has in
the past been very successful in performing the delete, but it doesn't work
now. Ive got multiple Windows XP systems installed on my machine, but
trying to delete from a different directory doesn't work either. How can I
get rid of the directories?

Boot to safe mode and try deleting them from there.
