How do I get rid of Napster

R

retta

Napster is attached to my windows media player. I've completed all
searches I can think of to get rid of it but nothing seems to work. I
tried deleting the windows media player but the delete process says
something else is using the file so it won't delete. I have used
cleanup, adaware, xoftspy, security task manager, and a windows search
and still I can't get rid of napster. What do I need to do? Please help.

Why do you want to get rid of it?

Recently when I turned on my Windows media player (use it every few days) it
too had napster selected. Don't know why or how but likely they paid MS to
be the first attached. I could not find a way to remove it from my computer
either.

But (and you probably already know this) if you select the button just to
the right of the napster icon it will open many other choices to select and
the napster icon disappears.

In my case I don't care 'cause I only listen to free (no verbal
advertisements) internet radio with literally thousands of stations to select.

Good luck

Your kidding right? What if you did not install it or wanted it
installed? What if you do not use it because it is junk? Don't
respond to someone asking for help with some sacastic, little boy "why"
response. If you get unsolicited "malware" on your computer, then you
should, by all means, remove it out of principle no matter how "cute"
it may be.

I couldn't agree more. I don't want any program installing itself or
changing my setting with my knowledge or acceptance. I too now
suddenly have the Napster Icon - I don't think it is funny.

No.

Tough titties.

You don't know if it's junk or not.

Why not? And asking "why" is a adult and mature as anyone can get.

And your proof that it's malware is?

P.S,to bob I ,i had already deleted the download of napster,so i didn't have
an icon anymore, but it was still in my media player. That's why that advice
didn't help me(from aneras)

In Media Player click the "down arrow" next to the Napster icon and
change it to someplace else. It has nothing to do with whether or not
"Napster" is installed or not, it is only one selection among many
available sources.
