How to get rid of requirement for logon screen

M

I clicked an option on my Bitdefender antivirus for setting a
"stronger password" for Windows and now when I boot up a password
screen comes up. It never did before, it just booted to the desktop.
How do I get back to that? Not finding anything in the Windows Help.

Running XP Home, SP2

Thanks

Try Power Toy's Tweak UI from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Install, run and under Logon you will find check boxes to select
the accounts you want displayed or in your case with Autologon
you can choose to Enable/Disable it by Checking or un-checking the 'Logon
automatically' option.

TweakUI is a very useful tool and is relatively safe for most users as they
don't need to use the registry editor or other less obvious methods to make
changes to Windows.

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, left click "your user name" then clear the Users Must
Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer check box and then click
OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the "user name
and password" for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Added note: (Alex MVP)

If you want to logon to one of the other users, hold down shift as the
system boots up.

Tip:

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
