How to get rid of old System Volume Infom..

S

I have this System Volume Information folder of about 4gig on
an old XP-system disk, which now is in use as a back up disk
on my Vista box.
After taken the ownership and the rights of the folder I´m
allowed coming into it, but not to delete it.
What I googled up on this issue apparently doesn´t hold.
Does anyone knows how to get rid of this folder.

Thanks.

Maybe the cacls command does a better job.
To give the user "UserName" full access to all files on X:

cacls X:\*.* /T /C /G UserName:F

No permission were given of deleting this folder running
cacls ......
A disk clean-up suggested by philo does not remove the last and
only restore point. It´s remarkable stupid not be given the choise
by Microsoft to clean-up ones disk for a huge crap of 4gigs.
Day by day ones aversion against that big stupid Animal grows
higher and higher.

You can always format the drive to get rid of it. Just save any keepers to
another drive beforehand.

Thanks, I had that in mind as a last resort.
Yet, I´m astonished, such maneuver is necessary.
I still think it´s possible to alter something in the registry
doing it possible to delete this old unused
System Volume Information on that secondary drive.
A chance is somebody here knows how.
My new AVG antivirus found hackertools and something
called "Generic 12. PHK" (a Trojan horse) in it. It´s put in
the Wault. Norton Internet Security never found nothing of
this. Is that company a Big Bluff ?. One or the others.
Fortunately in this case I have anough vacant space on the
system drive to keepers. But would like to know if the other
I asked for is possible.
