How to get "reply bars >>"?

Is there some way to get Outlook to prefix those "reply bars" (not
sure what they are called) when I reply to a message?

I get into technical exchanges where it is helpful to insert replies
to replies to replies. It is very helpful to be able to have each
previous message offset by ">", like this:
This was the second reply

This is the last reply

I would like to have all of the above shifted roght by 1 character and
another ">" inserted so I can add my comments in between.

Can I get Outlook to do this?

Thanks

Thanks. It looks like a nice utility. Unfortunately, it requires that
I disable Word as my email editor. I have a bunch of macros that I
would lose.

Maybe I'll write another macro to do what ought to be built into
Outlook.

Thanks

In Outlook 2000, try Tools-->Options-->E-mail options

In Outlook 2000, try Tools-->Options-->E-mail options

I could get it to put vertical bars, but not ">". I had to abandon
Word as my email editor to get that.

Thanks for the suggestion.
