How to get my .wmv clips from directory into collections for editi

I can drag one .wmv clip from my clips directory, onto the timeline, but if I
try to drag another clip in order to combine the two, the first one
disappears. It seems like I can only get one clip onto the timeline at a
time.

Are you sure you aren't just zoomed in too far so you can only see one clip?
Try using the [PgUp] button to zoom out so you can see more of the timeline
or go to Story Board view and see if both clips are there then.

Nope. Not a zoom prob. When I drag the second one to the timeline, the
first one disappears and the second one starts at zero seconds.

We'll have to put that in the 'very hard to do' category. You are
attempting to drag your clips from the 'collection' window right? Instead
of dragging your second clip to the timeline, try to right click on it and
choose 'add to timeline' and see if the first one disappears then. If not,
try importing some pictures and doing the same thing....after that if your
problem persists, I would reinstall SP2 with MM2.1...good luck.

Oh, I think I see what you are doing. The subject says 'get my clips from
directory into collections for editing'......you are probably trying to drag
your clip from a folder directly into the 'collections' pane (NOT THE
TIMELINE)....and each time you try to bring in a second clip it replaces the
first clip. The Timeline is at the bottom...drag the clip to the timeline
and then bring your second clip into the collection area.

The best way is on the upper left....where it says 'Import Video'...click on
that and find your clip and import it....drag that to the timeline...and then
go import your second clip and drag it to the timeline. Again, the timeline
is at the bottom of your window which includes the area for Video,
transition, audio, audio/music, and title overlay. Good luck!
