how to get file back from "gobbledegooK" to plain English

I don't know how I did it, but I put my journal into what I call
"gobbledegook" (Shows my age) and I don't know how to get it back.
 
Is that journal written with MS-Access? If so, it is corrupted. If not, you
need to find a newsgroup dedicated to the program you used. This newsgroup
is dedicated to the MS-Access database product.
