how to get design view in frontpage

Click the "Design View" tab at the foot of the screen.

But first you need to *open a web* (File > Open > Web (or File > Open >
Site) before you start a new page or open a page within that web.
 
done that sorry im new to frontpage im doing it for duke of endinburgh for
scouts im 15
