If you have the original Dell CDs, the procedure is different.
Check your manual and/or contact Dell for the procedure.

Hi

If you posted the details of your problem, someone may be able to help you
before a re-format. What kind of CD have you got? Formatting may delete
any hidden folders that Dell have installed. A 'Repair' install may help.
