How to format background with a picture not on file?

Hi,

I know I can go online and download a picture and then do format background
and select the downloaded picture from the file. But if I want a picture in
the Clip Art task pane, can I transfer that picture to the background without
saving it to file first? If not, how do I save that picture to file? If
there is a "globe" on the picture, I have no problem using "make available
offline" and save it to Microsoft clip organizer. But if it doesn't have a
"globe" and I do "copy to collection," I can't find the picture in Microsoft
clip organizer even though I have selected it as the destination. Please
help. Thank you!

Click on the gray bar on the right of the ClipArt in the preview task pane,
then on Preview/Properties. You'll find the path there and can copy it to
insert the ClipArt into the background.

Yes, I see the path. For me to get out of clip art and follow the path to
search for the picture, copy etc. is quite a bit of work. Is there a better
way? I don't understand why "copy to collection" can't work as easily as
"make available offline?" As I said in my previous post, I had no problem
saving the picture to file when there is a "globe" on the picture? Have I
missed something?

In the "copy to collection" dialogue box, it says "copy the selected clip(s)
to the collection," it should copy, right? I chose one of the folders, say,
my document, my pictures, Microsoft clip organizer. However, the picture
didn't go to the folder. I am at a loss.

I think I know what is happening. I still need some explanation.

Whether I do "copy to collection" or "make available offline" the **same**
dialogue box opens. Let's say I use my pictures, Microsoft clip organizer as
the destination for my copy, for both "copy to collection" and "make
available offline." I have to go thru two different routes to see my
picture. For "copy to collection" I have to click on organize clips in the
clip art task pane and click on Microsoft clip organizer to see my file. But
with "make available offline" I can click start, my documents, my pictures,
Microsoft clip organizer to see my picutre. If the picture is here, then I
have no problem doing format > background > fill effects > picture to select
my picture. Please help me sort this out. Also, if the picture is only
available when I click organize clips etc. how do I select the picture when I
do format > background etc.?

I find it easier to just click on the arrow of the picture right there in
the task pane and click copy. I also find that inserting the picture to the
slide is different from fromat > background. First, I have to enlarge the
picture to cover the size of the slide and then do order > send back. I
really like to be able to copy the file to my pictures folder so that I can
do format > background > fill effect > picture when **the picture doesn't
have a "globe" i.e. not on www**. Can someone help please.
