How to force the euqation limit to stay at the bottom

Hi

When I am writing a complicated equation, for example there is a summation
or product symbol at the denominator of a fraction. The equation editor will
always make the limits into subscript or superscript. I will try to draw the
problem, I will use E to denote the sigma symbol

In stead of

E (expression...)
(s \in S)

I got

E_ (expression...)

("_" denotes the expression s \in S being changed into subscript)

Word is trying to make my equation look compact but instead it screwed up
the whole format and make my equation unreadable because I have many symbols
that follows.

Is there a way to keep the limit to the top and bottom?

P.S. I am tempted to use Equation 3.0 instead but the fonts are not
consistent if i do so

Oh, more

When it was sigma notation, and I right click the subscript, it has an
option "change limit location"
I click on it, it does nothing

When it was product (pi) notation, I click on the subscript, there isnt even
the option of changing the location.....

I am stuck here...

The fonts in Equation Editor 3.0 are as consistent as you make them.
Set them to whatever you want by clicking on Style > Define. Once in
the Define Styles dialog, set any style to any font you want, BUT you
must leave LCGreek, UCGreek, and Symbol set to symbol font.
