How to find SETTINGS

This is probably a VERY simple question. ( I hope) I
used to be able to find things on my OLD computer when it
was just Windows98. Now that I have WindowsXP.. I cannot
seem to find "Settings" and then "Preferences" for some
reason.
Can someone please tell me how to get to the SETTINGS
area? thank you very much. Lana

This is impossible to answer. The settings for XP are
found everywhere and anywhere depending on what you want
to do. The choices are virtually limitless and so are the
answers. Just ask what you want and you will get a direct
answer for that one thing. Keep smiling.

Have you tried the "Start" menu and then Control Panel.
Work your way through it from there. Hope this is what
you need.
