How to Find GUID/UUID?

Victor

Hi,

I have a small home network with a Server and a Router as the DHCP server.
I want to get my Server to recognize one of my PC's running XP Pro.
Could not find the GUID/UUID at BIOS, neither at PC case or with a network
sniffer (Tried Iris and Sniff'em).
Does anybody know any other way I can get the GUID/UUID or maybe a sniffer
thta could get me the DHCP package?
Thanks a lot!!

Victor.

Are you talking about the MAC address? Sorry I can't follow this at all.

.
The server (router) only responds to a DHCP request. As
far as a GUID this is performed by a Microsoft OS so if
your system is not producing this your either not working
with a application that uses this ID or your not on the
net. Your router will not produce a GUID.

Hey Ken,

Thanks for the reply!

No, is not the MAC Address. I got my network working. All computers have an
IP. I'm trying to add my Client Computers to my Server's "Active Directory
User and Computers", however to do so it's asking for the GUID/UUID on each
computer I want to ad/manage. I'm trying to manage the computers on my
network, I want to do RIS manage computers and Share folders to specific
computer through my Server.

Anyway, thanks a lot!!

Victor.
