How to find all QFE available for XPe

B

Ben

Hello,

I need some info on how to make sure to find all QFE available on the
Microsoft site, as recently I found a note under "Product Update" for
".Net Framework" QFE (see path below for note), but looking under
"Critical Update" or "Important Update", I did not found that QFE.
Luckily, there was this note otherwise I would miss it.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/downloads/xp/default.aspx

So there must be a place where I should be able to search for all QFE
avail for XPe, without using the general MSDN search.

Note that I use the general MSDN search with the keyword "Framework"
and I did not found that QFE even after scrolling for 50 items! I
could have continued to scroll but there must be a more efficient
method.

Another place where I also look for QFE, is the OEM site (we are OEM
registered XPe user)

https://microsoft.embeddedoem.com/content.asp?path=/

So, is there a way to make sure to find all QFE avail for a specific
topic?

Also do I need to search in both general XPe, and OEM XPe sites,
everytime?

Thanks for your help,

Ben.

Ben,

There is a restricted OEM site that microsoft has that will give you all
QFE's for a related OS (IE CE/XPE)

http://microsoft.embeddedoem.com

You will have to register, and have a CLA number, but once approved, you can
get in, and see all the QFE's

He mentioned the site and he's got the access.

Ben, I think, to be always sure, you need to check all the QFE sites available to you.

Hello JC,

Thanks for your input, but as KM said, I already have access to the
QFE site for OEM register user.

The point that I'm more concerned about is that I saw a QFE (".Net
Framework") as a note in the "Product Update" section, but when
searching on regular QFE site, and QFE site for OEM user, (under
"Critical", "Important", "Other QFE", ..) I did not find that QFE.

Anyone as input on that problem?

How can I make sure to find all QFE available?

Thanks in advance,

Ben.

Ben, can you define what sites you're referring to here? You saw the
..Net update somewhere, but not on the regular QFE site - I don't know
what two locations you're referring to here.

We know that there's a disconnect between the three major download
points for XPE QFE's (Remote Access Site, Download Center, and MSDN
Embedded home page) - we're working to reduce that problem, and should
have that done by the end of the calendar year. It would be sooner, but
we're all hard at work to get SP2 out the door - once that's done, we
can look to do some serious housekeeping.
