John D.

Hi, we have a s3 savage4 video card working on windows 2000. Unfortunetly s3
driver for windows 2000/xp isnt very good so we would like to use the driver
that comes with windowsxp installation disk on windows 2000.
My question is, how can i extract that driver from the installation cd? Is
it possible?

Thanks

Hey John,

If I'm not mistaken, there are 4 S3 drivers on the Windows XP CD in the
i386 folder.

You will need the "EXTRACT.EXE" which is part of the Windows XP Support
Tools.

Just locate and open the SUPPORT.CAB file (SUPPORT\TOOLS) on the CD and
save the EXTRACT.EXE to the SYSTEM32 folder.

Now you can extract those drivers using --> C:\extract [name of file]

I hope this helps.
